Hi there! I’m Pixie—tiny, clumsy, and always just a little bit wobbly. But that’s okay, because at Angel Wing every pup has a purpose—even one like me! Oh, let me explain.
Behind a special door at Furtale Place Shelter, hidden from most eyes, there’s a magical place called Angel Wing. Angel Wing is where special pups like me train to become Earth’s Guardian Angels. Our mission? To help hearts heal, to bring back smiles, and to make love shine again! (Spoiler: They say my heart shines with a kind of love as special as my wobbly wings and crooked halo!)
At Angel Wing, we have three amazing mentors, Major Duke, Madame Pearl, and Lady Bella. During the day, they’re disguised as human shelter workers at Furtale Place — helping families adopt forever fur friends, but at night, they transform into their true selves as Angel Mentors, and they teach us three very important Angel lessons.
Lesson 2: STAY. Lady Bella says, “Sometimes hearts need help staying whole so Angel pups must learn to make windows that connect three special places, Earth, Rainbow Bridge and Heaven.” (Spoiler: My windows aren’t round like the others-but they still work.)
Lesson 3: LOVE. Madame Pearl says, “Angels must learn to heal broken things because sometimes the biggest hurts start with the smallest tears.” (Spoiler: My stitches are always crooked—but again, they still work!)
The first book in Pixie’s Angel Wing series, my mision is to help Gus, a Great Dane who has lost his human friend Ava. His heart is so broken with grief that he’s forgotten how to be happy. I have to help him discover that even though Ava isn’t physically by his side anymore, their love never truly ends. It’s a big challenge for a tiny pup like me—but with my wobbly wings and crooked halo, I’m determined to help his heart heal!
Oh, and if I succeed, I earn my very first star on my crooked halo, bringing me one step closer to something I’ve been dreaming about since I first arrived at Angel Wing. But you’ll have to read the book to discover what that special something is!
